Fake nails + newborn =????

My friend (who doesnt have a kid btw) just snapped me flipping shit that I got my nails done... she said I could scratch MY baby when she gets here and the cut will get infected......  my nails are posted below, I was like “oh okay thank you!”... 😂

Your fake nails are probably much thicker than my natural nails. My natural nails, being thinner, are probably more likely to cause a scrape that could become infected than yours. I have never scraped my baby (with my thinner, sharper nails) so that she bleeds and then let the wound get dirty and infected. However, she has scraped herself many times with her little razor blades 😂

Obviously she doesn’t have a kid... if she did, she’d know that they come right out of the womb with razor-sharp talons that they routinely scratch themselves with. 😂

I think it’s totally your call but I must share that I was super surprised by how often my natural, not even long nails got in the way during newborn care! I’m sure you can manage but I was sure to keep mine very short for the first year because it did make things difficult and yep, I’ve accidentally scratched my baby 😬 they’re movements are pretty jerky and it’s easy for your hand to unexpectedly collide with them, I’d be more concerned about that than diaper changes and such.

Totally not an issue. I got mine done the day before my induction. The only thing you might have a problem with is unbuckling the carseat, but at that length you should be fine.

These are my nails and I have a 4 month old son. I have never even scratched my son. It’s just about knowing how do handle everything with the nails. Your nails are perfect, some people just think getting nails means you will hurt everything and everyone. You are fine

Literally not even giving that a thought lol never had that problem for my 3 kids, sisters 2 and my brothers 2... I only took them off for a job I am at now, and miss my nails every day😫 tell her shes crazy lol and to worry about herself 🙊

My nails were way worse with a new born!
