Vaginal birth with breech baby?

Hi, my baby is breech, my midwife suggested that a vaginal birth can still be tried. I’m not sure about the risks. Did anyone have a vaginal birth with a breech baby? any suggestions? I aways dreamed about a vaginal birth, but given the risks, this is such a hard decision! 😰

While I understand that you dreamed of having a vaginal birth. Delivering a breach baby is highly risky. I’m shocked your midwife is saying you can still attempt it. Sometimes our birthing plans don’t always go the way we want, trust me, I know, but what matters is that we deliver our babies the safest way we can.

At 30 weeks I was told my baby was breech so we scheduled a c-section. At 32 weeks I was given the option of having the OB flip him outside of my stomach, I refused because I would have to be in the operating room, just in case babies heart beat dropped suddenly and it’s painful. I didn’t want to risk delivering my baby early and him having complications when I could just have a c-section and everything be normal. He never flipped so at 39 weeks I had my c-section. Perfectly healthy and I healed just fine. My neighbor delivered a breech baby vaginally (they didn’t know he was breech) and he has to wear a helmet for a few months due to that, it was also a very intense, risky delivery, the doctor even mentioned that they are lucky both mom & baby didn’t die; due to nobody knowing he was breech until he was coming out. Everybody is different so do what you feel is right for you and your child, don’t be afraid to speak up to your doctor for more information :)

I don’t have any advice other than trying spinning babies or seeing a chiropractor, but 97% of babies get into appropriate position prior to the start of natural labor.
