Is membrane sweep worth it?

I'll be 40w on Monday and considering getting it done to help push stuff along but did anyone actually go into labor after having it done?

I read some studies recently. In one of them the group of women at 40 weeks who got the sweep 20% more of them went into labor within 48 hours compared with the group who didn’t get the sweep. Also, the overall average length of time pregnant was 4 days less among the group who got the sweep than those who didn’t. 
I personally think the sweep is a good idea as it helps prevent needing medical induction at the hospital. 🙂

If you are to the point where they are discussing induction I think it’s definitely worth it. Anyway to kick-start labor “naturally” would be my ideal. I’m set to be induced Monday and have a doctors appointment tomorrow where they will sweep for one last effort to get things moving without pitocin

I just got mine done today, 39+5 definitely uncomfortable and a bit painful. I am very sensitive though, can’t take being fingered and need a lot of foreplay before sex. It was still worth it for me though, if he can come without being medically induced I’d rather that. I want the experience of waking up with contractions or my water breaking. 
Doctor did set my induction date for next Thursday, hoping he comes before then.

I have an induction set for 40 weeks, but my doctor is on vacation next week. She attempted a sweep but he’s not low enough for her to really do anything 😭

Bit of a false poll as some ladies will have gone into labor after having it done anyway so it’s not necessarily because their sweep was done it happened
