Advice on discipline?

Hi guys, so, I have an 18 month old son, and he is CONSTANTLY bullying other kids his age. I feel as if I have tried everything and nothing is working. I’m so tired of having parents come to me and tell me I need to spank my kid because he’s a bully but I feel like that’s all I do is discipline him. I just want to know if anyone has any ideas on how to get him to stop being so mean to other kids his age. Thanks.

What's he doing? 18 month olds are pretty crazy, I doubt he's intentionally "bullying" them.

You just have to be really on top of him for a while, emphasising "we need to be gentle with people when we play" and remove him when he acts out. He'll quickly realize that if he is violent, he can't play. I highly recommend the Danish Way of Parenting

I haven’t had a huge issue with this.  But any time my lo tried to poke someones eye, pull hair, or slap (including me or my husband), we don’t let her play anymore.  We tell her it’s not nice and it hurts and We stop playing and let her be.  If it’s another little one we tell her no and that hurts the other child and to give them a hug or to pat them nicely.  If she still keeps going we remove her and tell her she can’t play with others if she’s going to act like that.

He’s still learning. Anyone who’s telling you to discipline him is absolutely wrong. Babies aren’t born knowing right from wrong, they learn that as they grow up. Sometimes it can just be them experimenting with the reaction they get, or a sensory need that needs to be tended to, but it’s never a malicious thing. It’s normally just a stage, you just need to guide him through it, and continuously give him positive guidance for example instead of saying “dont hit” say “that hurts me (or people/other children) please be more gentle and kind with your hands” if that makes sense.
