Long distance 😭

Me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and a half. We live with my mom at the moment while we save for a place together of our own. We moved 3 hours away from the rest of both of our family and he came to me today and said he was moving back home next week because he found a better job and to help his grandma out since she just got out of surgery. He asked for me to come with but im torn. I told him I didnt want to go because I didnt want to move back to a dangerous neighborhood again .

Also it seems like he cant keep a job for more than a few months so its hard to depend on him and i dont want to be stuck in the house because i dont really know anyone around there, since Im a terrible driver I cant really get around any where without a car. Our relationship already feels rocky and I dont feel comfortable just leaving like that with him in a short time period when were already having issues in our relationship. He just wants me to pick up and leave.

I let him know its okay if he goes im not going to hold him back from something thats going to make him happy and I know having his family around does that. So I told him to go stay with his grandma. My problem is I KNOW I cant do long distance .I tried it before thats how I know it wont work out. See I can stay loyal to him and everything but its staying in contact with him is the hard part.

Im not the type to text or talk on the phone. Ive never been that type im a boring texter honestly. We dont even do that now. So now hes asking for a break since I know i cant do long distance and move in with him once he gets a place in a few months. I feel selfish because it does feel like its either me or moving but I honestly dont want to move and I know long distance wont work. I want him to do what makes him happy and move but im just torn. sorry I just needed to vent. Any thoughts because my judgment and thoughts seems to be cloudy at the moment😕
