I need to rant. I’m so angry. I’m in tears because I’m so mad.

I’m in an ethics class and our last day is in two weeks. So that means exams and projects. Well, for our last project the professor put us into teams of 3-5 people. My team had three people including myself. Our task was to write a policy proposal on how to change at least the US to more renewable energy. The winning team would get to have their final exam (2,000 word paper) waived.

So of course my team is SCRAMBLING to write a damn good proposal. We found 5 laws/policies from other countries to go by and incorporate into our idea (cited of course). And it was due last night. I was in charge of sending this final draft to our professor since I was doing the final touches. It was due by 11:00pm.

Before we sent our final draft, we had to send in a rough draft three days ago and he commented on it and suggested a few changes. Which we did in our final.

Okay so we scramble to fix some stuff and we added quite a bit of detail to our proposal, making sure there weren’t too many holes.

I sent it in last night at 9:30pm. The winning team to be announced today.

Well, about 20min a go my team and I received and email from him saying it was good but not the winning team and that we got a B. Alright whatever. That’s cool. He send us the draft back with his comments. I get to reading them.

HE GRADED OUR ROUGHT DRAFT INSTEAD OF OUR FINAL COPY. WHAT IN THE HECK.

I went back to my sent emails to MAKE SURE I sent him the right copy. I DID.

I have since emailed him back stating that I sent in the final drafter before 10:00 last night and that he did not grade the final, but instead the rough draft. No response.

I know he’s probably already sent the winning team an email, but gee our team honestly does deserve to be graded ON WHAT WE HAD FINISHED!

I’m so angry. He hasn’t emailed me back. So I don’t know what’s going on. But I just can’t believe this.

Our proposal went from two pages (including our citations page) to six pages. We stated laws that would be put in place, how to obtain the money to do what was needed, and stats from places where it has worked. EVEN A TIMELINE TO HAVE IT DONE BY 2050!

I’m shaking.

College is a SCAM.

***UPDATE***

So our team got an email back. He said he missed that I had emailed our proposal last night and that he didn’t see it in his email until I notified him. Okay cool mistakes happen.

He changed our grade to an A. Which is awesome because we put our blood sweat and tears into this.

BUT he said that while our final proposal was good enough to win, he had already sent the winning team an email saying that they are exempt.

So I’m still extremely pissed, but at least the issue was resolved and our grade changed to an A. But I mean he could still exempt us from the final just to be nice since it was his mistake but oh well I guess 🤦🏽‍♀️
