Has anyone else did this?

Question

When I have my baby boy I want to feed him breast milk but through a bottle (if I can breastfeed) Does anyone else do that? My mil keeps saying “oh that’s not a natural way he should be breast feed on your nipple”. Like wtf as long as he’s getting fed!! I just know it’ll be hard to get him off when it’s time so I rather have it in a bottle to feed him. Who do you think is right?

You can certainly pump and give your breastmilk to you baby for every feeding if you wish, it is not an easier option by any means. Pumping is a lot of work and takes dedication. Baby can do a more efficient job if they can nurse right at the breast if there’s no lip/tongue ties involved. Also, feeding a bottle instead of nursing doesn’t necessarily ween baby off any quicker.

A lot of people do that. The only difference is that when a baby is nursing from your breast your breast milk will change for them when they need it to like when they're sick and pumping doesn't allow that to happen.

Nothing wrong with it but I had a friend who’s baby wouldn’t latch so she had to do this and she ended up switching to formula after 2 months because she said it was so tiring. She felt like she was either pumping or feeding and had hardly any time to rest, especially after her husband went back to work after 2 weeks. If you can get a good supply going early I think you may be ok but just be prepared that it may be more difficult than you anticipate. 
Talk to a lactation specialist ahead of time so you have the best plan in place for a pumping schedule to help you increase production.

Lots of prople do that they just exclusivley pump.
