Alternative Meats

Caitlin
So I made a comment in a thread about how I wished it was still socially acceptable to eat horses and it was deleted. I just wanted to get it out there that it was once a common food source and has been considered a delicacy in some cultures. I know they're considered pets now, but they weren't always, just as cats and dogs have been food sources in other cultures. So I just want to put it out there that not everyone eats strictly mainstream meats (beef, chicken, pork, fish). In my home, we eat beef heart and tongue, squirrel, grouse, crawfish, raccoon, groundhog, deer, and bear. I have eaten horse, I enjoyed it. I'm not looking to offend anyone here (the horse was dead and the owner didn't want to dispose of the corpse and sold it to us). Am I completely wrong in enjoying alternative meats?
