Maybe he can do it himself or physically help you since he’s so good at doing it and knows exactly what to do. He doesn’t have to belittle you. But there’s not much text to go off of. I don't see it as an " issue" per se. 
Plus, there is not much context to judge. Maybe he sounds a little annoyed but it's obviously isn't a BIG ISSUE.

I've definitely seen worse. Sounds like he was trying to be helpful and a logical man trying to solve a problem. That's what I see from this convo and not knowing anything else that's going on.

Sounds like he was trying to save time and space by doing it his way and you decided not to do it. But then his way turned out to be the right way. Super annoying when my husband does that, he could’ve just done it how I said the first time and would’ve saved himself a headache! Doesn’t sound abusive just more like “I told you so” 😬
