Vbac To Elective Cesarean. Graphic.

Tiffany • Married with two wonderful little boys. Couldn’t change it because it’s the best thing ever.

I’ve been wanting and planning a vbac with my second child since my first was born via emergency c section due to dropped heart rates. At 38 weeks I decided to change my mind because my ultrasound had me worried. I was only 1cm, at my appointment before 38 weeks on April 15. My ultrasound showed he was at an angle head down and mostly posterior. I worried this would make things difficult. So I decided to do the elective caesarean. And today is that day. April 23. I’ve prepped and went back and was having some strong reactions to my spinal block as my body was hurting and I felt I couldn’t breathe. It got better luckily due to my anesteologist fixing it for me. And with my husband by my head I was so much happier. My little man came out and following his exit I suffered a pretty large sized uterine rupture because my uterus was so thin on the bottom. It was easily controlled. But it remains now that if I would have attempted vbac I would have had some complications. So necessary my c section was. And all my next will have to be too. My doctor will be able to discuss with me in the morning if anymore pregnancies are a good idea. I’m so worried as we would have liked to have a third child. But due April 30, my little Rowan Alexander Johnston came up screaming at 39 weeks on today’s date of April 23rd, weighing 6 lbs and 11oz and 20 inches long. And his apgar is 9/9. He’s perfect. Here are pictures of the procedure, him, and thy said ruptured uterus.
