Baby refusing baby food?

Question

As of these past two weeks it has been a battle to get my son to eat his baby food. I thought it was just because he is going through a weird stage of teething. He has ZERO teeth lol. He will simply keep his lips closed and wont open when I'm trying to feed him. I notice if I try to offer him my food he will open but I'm too scared to give him my type of food because he has no teeth. Is anyone baby refusing their food? Any advice?

My girl will not eat any baby food. She only likes real food and always feeds herself independently.

Baby led weaning for sure! Unless it’s ridiculously chewy or hard to chew, cut up all regular foods small and give it to them! My little lady practically eats everything we do and loves it! She only eats regular food and formula.

Like the other commenter said, babies don’t need teeth to chew! Their gums are super hard. Just make sure food can be easily mashed (as a test, by you, between two fingers) to ensure it’s soft enough for baby to chew. He may just be ready to do it on his own!

My son does that when it's something he doesn't want to eat. It cracks us up because he literally WILL NOT open his mouth 😂 Even before our son got his teeth (he only has his two bottom teeth) we fed him what we're eating. Their gums are very strong and they can chew with them. It could just be that he's interested in other things (especially what he sees you eating). Maybe try feeding him some soft foods you eat (shredded chicken, ground beef, smashed fruits--like bananas or strawberries, shredded cheese, mashed beans). With the exception of honey and hard foods (apples, nuts, bacon, etc) we literally feed our son whatever we're eating.
