Should I stop sleeping over?

My SO and I have been together for almost a year. We 22 and 23 in college. He lives near our college and I live about 20 minutes away. I would say I spend the night at his place 6 out of 7 days. I'm looking for opinions. It feels like me staying here so often is hurting our relationship. It doesn't feel like he misses me because I'm always here. He is less affectionate, our sex live has decreased drastically, and I just feel like his roommate most of the time. We have talked about it but have never pinpointed the problem and I think this has something to do with it. How can you miss someone when you're always around him? I've noticed that after we're apart for more than a night, he is more of how he use to be in terms of romantic/affectionate. It's to the point where he barely kisses me goodnight. What do you guys think? I know space is healthy but would it be setting us backwards? Thanks in advance.

If you're considering the possibility of your relationship moving forward one day, this is something you'll both have to deal with. I'd say most couples that decide to move in together/get married experience this. It's like the end of the honeymoon phase and the reality of life together 24/7 sets in. It can be a hard transition. My husband and I went through a small phase after moving in together where we were both a bit distant and things felt different...it did get better though.

Maybe cut back a little? That's how I was when I first started seeing my bf - I would stay the night with him practically every night that I finally just moved in. You already said you feel like his roommate so I doubt you want to move in together yet. Sometimes my bf and I get to a point where we're together too much and have horrible fights, so I'll go spend the night elsewhere and we're better after that. Space is good.

I loved it when my SO and I were long distance. I was an hour away at school and he would come stay with me on weekends. He lived in my parent's home town and I would stay with them when I would visit him because his roommate was a bitch and I refused to be around her (he lived with a couple). But I knew that when we did see each other, we had been longing for each other. It was bizarre when we were able to actually live together and it was an adjustment on our relationship. We sort of started to resent each other for a period of time and we really had to work to start appreciating our time together again. My advice to you is to never stop flirting. It might sound silly but it helps a ton. Leave little love notes around, sleep in his shirts, bring him cookies, ect.
