Tell me your IUDS EXPERIENCE?!

I need to hear other people experiences on the IUD with and without hormones. I’ve had a bumpy ride with birth control and I’m at the point where I don’t want it ... but I’m also not ready for mom life. Right now I’m on the IUD w/o hormones and it’s okey but I’m having trouble with it where my period sometimes never ends or I’m late and that’s already a year in. I’ve had the one with hormones and the implant in my arm. So ugh.... help please.

i loved my merina iud. worked so well and had light periods. only con was bleeding for a couple months and mood swings. also had bad anxiety about when i couldn’t find the strings i would think it’s expelling but it never was.

I have tried dozens of different birth control pills, the Mirena IUD (never again!) And now have the Paraguard (non hormonal iud).
I recently found out that I am actually allergic to the hormones in traditional birth control and that's why my doctor recommended my current IUD. Since its non hormonal  it doesnt really regulate anything so my periods are longer and sometimes get sharp cramps. BUT  my periods and PMS and etc are nowhere near as bad as before.
I dont have any added weight gain or adverse side effects. 
When I had Mirena I would have abdominal pain almost constantly, nearly month long periods, unbelievable mood swings that included homicidal rage. (We now refer to that time as the dark years and IUD brain) it did not pierce through my wall but during the 4 yrs in had it because my insurance at the time would not cover its removal *was not a clear and present danger and I hadn't had it in long enough bs*  but during that time I learned of both my previous manager and a coworkers wife that it did happen two one of which had to have surgery to remove and the other got pregnant and could not remove it without aborting and so she carried to term with it in. I also learned about multiple lawsuits against the company after I had gotten mine removed. It took me 6 months to balance out after its removal and about 2yrs before we were able to get pregnant. 
I love my paraguard and dont plan to use anything else. The longer periods are a minor price to pay for the peace of mind and convenience.
