When to give babies water?

I’ve heard 6 months but people keep telling me within weeks or at a month or 2.

Prior to 6 months babies don’t need anything except formula or breastmilk.  Feeding them anything else takes away from the nutrients and calories they need that comes from their milk, especially water, which has absolutely no nutritional value

I started giving sips of water, like less than an oz a day per pediatrician instructions. At 6m she got a sippy with every meal.

The people who are telling you to give water under 6 months are morons. Don't listen to them. You can start water no sooner than 6 months and even then, it's only a few ounces.

Babies don’t need water.  Talk to your pediatrician.  I don’t t remember when mine said we could start.

6 months minimum. Always ask your pediatrician first before listening to other people's advice. 2 months is way too early and weeks is ridiculously early.  If the baby is fed enough breast milk or formal there is no need for anything else.

Our sons dr told us 6 months but he was able to have it a week earlier since we were in fl on vacation and he turned 6 months when we were there.

I gave water in small amounts once I started them on baby food so they could get a little drink with it. I would say 5-6 months.
