Middle name? (read post for context)

My husband and I barely agreed on a first name. My daughter is named after my grandma (middle name) and it’s important to me to name my son after someone as well. Edward is my grandpa’s and my dad’s middle name, the two most influential males in my life and I’m very close to them. However, since our daughter is named after someone on my side of the family, my husband feels like our son should be named after someone on his side of the family (Gregory is his brother’s name) to make it even. My problem with this is 1. My husband is not nearly as close with his family, 2. He’s not as sentimental about this stuff as I am, and 3. I’ve always always thought my son’s middle name would be Edward, long before we had any kids.

My hubby told me I can choose the middle name, which is very sweet of him and I know he means it, but I still feel guilty going with what I want. I’m due in a week, we need to make a decision! 😭
