When does it get better?

Had the Mirena inserted on 4/2/19. I was instructed I could have spotting for first few months. I’ve now had a continuous heavy period for 30 days with no signs of stopping. The doctor says it’s in the correct position. Encouragement needed. How did you get through the “settling in” period

It lasted about 3 months for me which was kind of annoying. But after that my periods were way lighter

I had the Mirena on March 23 2019 , I bleeding every day nonstop , then I went to my doctor and she gave me a kind of birth control pill to stop bleeding but it didn’t help at all 😭, till my IUD fall out on April 29 and am still bleeding till now 😡

You’ve only had it in for a month. It’s foreign object with hormones that was inserted into your body. You have to give it time.

I had long, heavy periods with occasionally really bad cramps for the first 3-4 months. I’ve had it for almost 6 months now and I think my period is starting to just.. go away. I was late for my last period and it was light and didn’t last long and I’m late for the period I’m supposed to be on now and I’m not so sure it’s coming this time. My advice: heating pad. And if you have a significant other, get them to google uterus massages because my boyfriend had to do quite a bit of those to console my baby self.

Its different for everyone i only had a 10 day period. Irregular bleeding can continue for the first 6 months. I hope it stops for you soon all you can do is wait it out.
