Loneliness

Hannah

Anybody else feeling this?

I am a first time mum and I wasn’t really prepared for how lonely you can feel when you’re with a baby all day.

My partner works 10 hour days 5/6 days a week so there’s just me and the baby most of the time. We are 7 weeks in and I’m really craving some normal, adult conversation that doesn’t revolve around poop and naps.

I have always been a very quiet and shy person around new people and the thought of those baby classes terrify me. I have the same friends I’ve had for 15 years so I don’t really class myself as somebody that finds it easy to speak to new people.

Has anybody been the same as me and just bit the bullet and tried a class? Or met people another way? I try and get out of the house at least once a day but there’s only so many times you can walk around a shop to pass the time or walk the dog to a park your baby can’t play in yet.

I wasn’t expecting maternity leave to be such a strange time, I am loving being a mummy but at the same time I feel isolated from the real world.

How do you guys fill your days?
