Any advice on overbearing parents ?

Recently asked my family to wash their hands before holding baby, don’t bite her nails with ur mouth, there’s no reason to burp baby with a stern or hard pat (whacking), etc. times
Have changed and the things that my parents did with my siblings and I, I don’t want them to do with my child. They are refusing and saying they know best. They have no boundaries and respect for my wishes. It sucks. Anyone have experience with getting ur parents to do what u want with ur kid? So much has changed, especially health wise and research. I jus wish they’d respect my wishes.

Sometimes you have to be stern about things. If they’re not getting it tell them they can respect your wishes or not touch her at all. 
Parents or not, that’s your baby. They should respect you.

Nope but anyone who does not respect my wishes or rules will not be around my baby. My baby my rules. I don’t care who it is.

If they refuse to follow your wishes, you have to tell them they’ll only be allowed to see your baby when you’re in the room.  If they continue to do it when you’re there id honestly just leave.  You’re the parent, don’t let them manipulate you into thinking they know best.

girl i asked my family to simply not kiss my baby on the face/mouth and their response was “we’ll lick the side of his fucking face if we want to”
i can’t tell you how irritating it is, it’s to the point i don’t even want them to visit when he’s born bc i feel like as soon as i turn my back they are going to do everything i ask them not to.

I'm in the SAME boat🙌 due in 6 weeks and my parents are being absurd telling me they wont respect my wishes of hand washing and no kissing on my baby when she's born. Also, my mom is mad&jealous bc my husbands mom is staying with us for the first month shes born and thinks "she will have more rights to her bc of this" ( to add: his mom lives in FL and we are in MS. She teaches so the summer is her only break to see us until Christmas) but I've learned that my husband and I are the parents of our baby and it doesnt matter, blood or not, if they don't respect our wishes, they simply won't see her. I'll just be the bad guy like they make me out to be.

I’ve had a few instances where my grandparents (they raised me) correct me for correcting my daughter. In front of her. I’m a huge stickler for my daughter behaving in public, especially at restaurants and there have been times we’ve been out to eat with the family and my daughter will be walking from one end of the table to the other while everyone is eating. After correcting my daughter, my grandpa had the nerve to say, “no it’s ok. Grandparents rules trump moms rules and I said it was ok.” 
I went off on him. My family is HUGE on respecting elders but I couldn’t hold it on. I told him that no ones rules trumped my rules and if he couldn’t respect that then she just wouldn’t be allowed to stay with them anymore. 
We also had the same issue with them allowing her to watch YouTube when I don’t allow it. 
I didn’t let my daughter go to their house for months without me and needless to say they now respect my rules.

Well your the mom you know what's best with your child, they can throw a fit all they want but in the end it's your baby and they have to respect what you say, like me I'm now worried that with this measels out break I need to make sure everyone that comes near has that shot and is not sick, I don't want my newborn exposed to something, so dangerous I told my mother in law she had to trim all her nails because she had those pointy nails that look like claws and if she don't do that she will not be holding my son. Hubby agreed with me.

I know my mom will follow my wishes but my dad and my husband’s parents I’m so worried about. Certain things are important to me. I have no solutions but am stressed about the same things.

Oh I offended a friend greatly when I asked him to wash his hands he wouldn’t hold the baby. Fine! We are friends again now, but my in-laws tried a few things I asked them not to and like some others have said, they just couldn’t see my kids without me there for several months. Then they got that I mean business. It’s not worth the health of your baby to spare people’s feelings.
