Anyone having a planned early induction?

Is anyone having a planned induction before babys due date? I've had two miscarriages and an ectopic and this will be our first baby and I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and read about the chances of stillbirth. My dr knows how I feel about potentially even going over his due date which I'm not comfortable with and now I'm more so uncomfortable with going over 39 weeks on the dot. Anyone been there before? Not trying to sound paranoid but I don't trust my body and if baby looks healthy and ready I'd rather have him in my arms at 38 weeks than risk anything happening to him.
