Birth certificate ??

Question

Does it vary how you get your baby’s birth certificate by state? I’m in California and wondering if I get sent my baby’s official birth certificate or if I have to apply for one through the county? 
If we do get them sent to us, my daughter is 6 weeks on Tuesday, I’ve gotten her social security card but not her birth certificate yet.

Washington and we ordered one online and it was mailed to us, the hospital only handled the ss card.

I’m in Georgia and after I filled out the paperwork at the hospital, I picked it up from our local Vital Records Office two weeks later. I did have to pay for it. 🙄

I’m in Florida and we had to go to the health department to get a certified copy. They asked us a lot of questions in the hospital that I think pertained to this as well.

I’m in Canada and we had to go to our registry office apply for one and pay than it’s mailed to you in 2 weeks.

In montana we have to go to vital records and pay for cert copies - or you could prob order online or by mail im sure

In MA it doesn’t get sent, we have to pick it up from the courthouse.

I’m in Wisconsin. The hospital submitted everything for us. I got sent a sheet about 1 week after birth to make sure all the info was correct and the form to fill out to order the birth certificate and any additional copies. Once I mailed that took about a week to get the official birth certificate in the mail

I'm in CA. You'll have to look at tour specific county. I'm in long beach and ip to her first birthday i can go to the records office in JB buy after 1 year I have to go to the one on downey. You'll have to pay for each copy you want. I got three with my first just in case I ever need to send one in or it needs to be held on to but returned later.

I’m in CA and the hospital filed for me but I had to go to the county’s Birth/Death Registry office and buy a copy.

I believe in Cali you have to buy a copy but I’m not 100% sure I was overwhelmed when the lady talked to me in hospital but I’m pretty sure
