Pushing the baby out?!

How exactly does breathing work while pushing? Am i supposed to let air out as i push or simply hold it in all together??

Let air out and try not to strain your face muscles, relax. I remember my nurse telling me that during labor.

Depends. As long as baby is descending fine you can do whatever feels most natural. If baby is not making much progress,  they may coach you some on where to focus, how to breathe, etc. Neither is right or wrong in every labor.

I held my breath, and thanks to that, broke all the blood vessels in my face and looked like a goon for days. Lol. I would suggest trying to breathe, but in the moment, you will end up doing whatever you feel like anyways!

I never took a birthing class or anything. I just did whatever felt natural for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️
