L&D For Anemia???

I was told I had low iron like a month ago. Today I’ve been having severe symptoms and the nurse that I spoke to at my doctor’s office told me to go to L&D. Isn’t that odd? What would they do to treat anemia on the Labor and Delivery ward?? I’m debating if I should even go.

Yes. You should go. If your iron is low enough they're telling you go to L&D, you probably will need an infusion. Iron is crucial to your baby. GO IN!!

Of course you should go! I’ve been getting iron infusions for the last month because of severe anemia. There still debating on doing a blood transfusion before my c section.

You should listen to your doctors? When they tell you you’re low on iron, you do what you can to fix it. If you’re below 7.0, you’re going to get a blood transfusion. If not, you’ll get an iron infusion. 
I was at 7.9 when they recommended me to get an iron infusion. I went ahead and made an appointment at a cancer center they referred me to. They’ll give you a time and day to go in and most likely you’ll have two or more appointments, the first being a small dosage to make sure you don’t have any reactions. The second is probably to give you a higher dosage.
