Employee making nasty comments on his wife and creeping me out

I don’t know what I’m trying to get out of this but I guess I need to just get it off my chest..

My husband and I own an electrical company... he is the engineer and I do the office stuff..

well not to long ago he hired one of his old acquaintances.. not a “good” friend but a really, really good worker!! He is now the highest paying employee of the company.. does amazing work!

But he is constantly talking shit about his wife!! Like, horrible shit.. NEVER to me but to my husband.. who of course tells me! And I hear some of their phone calls and even when it’s about work he is just constantly talking shit about her.. makes me so mad!! I don’t know her, but I met her a couple times... and I feel so bad for her!! He says stuff like “she’s a fat, lazy bitch” “she is a dumb C word” like who the fuck speaks like to an employer, let alone about their whole wife!!! Apparently she is a hypochondriac, so he is always having to leave to accompany her at the doctor... he is always complaining about it.. I get it. But in talks with my husband I’m like “imagine if I had to go to the ER I would NEED you with me to help with the kids and just hold my hand” and my husband is like “yeah he knew before they got married” I’ve heard this guy tell his 3 year old to shut the fuck up! Like ugh, I just don’t like it..

when he is around me, he is respectful and I guess leave the “locker room” talk out of it.. but he doesn’t realize I hear almost every conversation...

he has made a couple comments like “man, you’re so lucky! I would kill to have your wife!” I hate that.. I just think it’s so hurtful. And my husband and I both get off the phone like WTF..

SO! His wife and him are going away for a few days on vacation.. and he “jokingly” said to my husband “why don’t you go on vacation with my wife, and I’ll work but go to your house and be with your wife” and then said “I wish we could trade”

NOW I am thoroughly creeped out and disgusted with this guy.. this conversation didn’t happen in front of me, but my husband told me about it and all he said was “yeah you wish” but he was kind of creeped out too.. now, I’m never alone with the guy but all the guys come to me to get their paychecks so that could easily happen if he came to get it when he knew no one would be around..

we cannot fire him! He is our best guy! And we have several big projects coming up that he is mostly handling...

I’m just.. ughh.. creeped out!!!
