Can you get tattooed while breastfeeding?

I have an appointment today. Should I cancel it? I’m only getting the outline done for my sleeve and am going to a very clean, reputable shop (been going there for 3 years) and have been tattooed many times before (full sleeves, etc). I also have never gotten any infections during aftercare

I was told by two different Drs and a tattoo artist that it's not a good idea.
Just because you've never gotten an infection before, doesn't mean you won't ever get one.
The risks are too high. I wouldn't do it.

No...if it’s a truly reputable spot they would have told you that they can’t tattoo you when you told them you’re pregnant

Personally I would (and did) but most people will recommend that you don’t and most shops in my experience won’t do it. If you google Dr Newman breastfeeding tattoo you’ll find Dr Newman’s Facebook page, he has a good discussion about tattoos while breastfeeding that’s worth reading. Do your research and if you decide the risks are acceptable you would have to find a shop that’s willing or you’ll have to hide the fact that you’re breastfeeding.
