So my boyfriend's mom said she was taking our son to the store which I was fine with but she took him to my boyfriend's nana's without asking and I told my boyfriend she needs to ask before doing stuff like that and he said it wasnt a big deal that I'm overreacting

She took him to a family member, bit a strip club or something. I agree from a safety perspective she should have said something beforehand but I mean it's not a big deal.

Try not to freak out or make it a huge deal but make it very clear you have every right to know where you child is at any given time. Let her know you’d appreciate a text to at least know what’s going on.

Youre not overreacting you should know where your kid is at all times. I dont have a kid but I have that rule for my dog and my family respects it since she has to stay with them while im overseas and its MY dog. Also everyone has phones texting is easy. If they can do that with a dog and not complain your fam can do that with a kid and not complain 🤷🏻‍♀️

It would not bother me at all, but letting you know in advance about your child whereabouts is always necessary. So I agree with you it made you upset and your boyfriend should understand.

It's not that big of a deal. You left your child in her care so you should trust that she wouldn't put him in harms way. My mum often takes my kids out and about or to visit relatives and doesn't always tell me until afterwards. It really doesn't bother me because I trust her to keep them safe no matter where they are!
