Has anyone traveled to high elevation while preg?

I’m considering travel to 10,000 ft during my 22nd week and worried about high altitude symptoms (shortness of breath, headache/sleeplessness). Has anyone done this? What was it like for you?!

Altitude sickness is no joke, so I’d suggest caution. Do you regularly travel to altitudes like that? Have you experienced altitude sickness before? How will you be traveling to this altitude? Car or plane put you at higher risk for altitude sickness than by foot  because you don’t have time to acclimatize. What’s you’re staring altitude/what altitude do you live at? Going up from 9,000’ is way different than sea level. 
As random as this piece of advice might seem, you might consider reaching out to Dr Andrew M. Luks at University of Washington Medicine. He specializes in high altitude research and has in the past offered to talk with people over email about high altitude travel concerns... I don’t feel comfortable tossing his email out there to the ether, but you can either pm me and I’ll give it to you, or you can search for his 2015 video presentation and scroll to minute 47 to grab it for yourself.

I didn’t but my SIL did. She had to go to the ER because the lack of oxygen was making her sick. They gave her an oxygen tank and it helped with the rest of her trip.

i’d talk to your doctor about it. if he/she says it’s safe, they will probably give you some tips.

I did, I was a little earlier than you. It slowed me down for sure but I drank a lot of water and was fine.
