HCG very very slow rising

Last week my hcg went from 14dpo 89 to 279 with a 50.1 hour double time. Today we repeated test after 6 days and it only rose another 100 to 300 and something. Dr is saying not favorable news but definitely not time to give up yet. Wants to give it a week and test again because "stranger things have happened." I do take progesterone once a day but am not having any bleeding or cramping. He said continue progesterone for another week (I know that could be stopping any bleeding).

Any thoughts? I am at peace either way just feel silly delaying the inevitable. A week sounds like a very long time to wait.
