Possible mmc, still feel very pregnant
I had a ultrasound scan last Tuesday and I was expecting to be 8wks exactly. Consultant said the gestation sac was a slightly irregular shape but both yolk sac and fetal pole was visible. He said it measured 3.6mm so would be too small to expect to see a heartbeat anyway. They wanted to scan in 2wks but I'm away holiday (not looking forward to that now ...) so will be 3 wks till I find out for certain.
I told him that I had been keeping records and that I thought it must be a mmc. He said they have procedures to follow nowadays that require a second scan to determine if growth had stopped. He said I could have got my dates wrong "sperm can live up to 7 days remember". By my calculation last conception would have been 9th August making me 5wks 2 days on day of scan. Typical length at that date is 3-4mm. I had a positive test on 20th August so would have only been 11 days pregnant.
I still have all symptoms of pregnancy, nausea getting worse by the day, ravenous appetite when not feeling sick, very tender breasts, bloated and I've put on 3kg in total! I'm also completely exhausted - almost falling asleep mid afternoon at work!
Anyone else experienced the same? Anyone ever have a positive outcome after a inconclusive early scan?
