When your SIL tries to steal your thunder...

I’ll preface this by saying my SIL has always been envious of me. The first time I met her, she basically burned a hole through me as she stared me up and down. Dirtiest look I have ever gotten. She’s awful.

Anyway, my husband and I have two boys. We have been trying baby #3 since October 2017. We have both been checked out, and thankfully we are both healthy. So, basically it’s just secondary infertility. Everything is in working order. I am taking vitex now as it’s what helped hs conceive my first.

No one knows we are trying. Just us. We recently bought a new car. A bigger car than we used to have. It’s a third row car now. We honestly bought bc we wanted more room for sports and the kids’ friends.

So, three days after I get a really random text from my SIL saying: “I had a dream you kissed me hello and I said I KNOW to you, and touched your belly. And you said OMG how did you know?!”

So, I said to her “you probably had that dream bc you assume that bc we got a bigger car, I am pregnant, but I not”

She didn’t text me after that. I know she is mad I said that to her. But, I know how she works. She loves getting into ppl’s business to find out private stuff and then go and spread the info around. So, I know she was just trying to get me to confess that I was expecting. And it totally is bc we got a bigger car. If the dream story was even true...

So, am I right for putting her in her place? Or did I over react? I feel like asking ppl about if they are trying or insinuating at it, is rude. Bc it’s just between you and your partner. And ppl don’t know what fertility hardships they are going thru. So I felt it was just petty of her.
