As as far as I’m concerned Mother’s Day is a made up commercial holiday. If you want to celebrate today and call yourself a “mom” because you take care of a plant who you’ve named Fred, I honestly do not give a shit. Dog mom, human mom, stepmom, mom-to-be, whatever! Do what you want and it has absolutely no bearing on me or my day.

I don’t see how it’s disrespectful to those struggling and ttc, taking care of a dog might not equate a child but it’s still a responsibility and a lot of people view their animals as their children and love them as such. It’s literally a made up holiday anyway

While I cringe a little on the inside to anyone who would call themselves a mom on Mother’s Day to just their dog, I would never actually say anything or make a big deal about it. There are many more things to get heated about in the world than a dog mom celebrating Mother’s Day.

I'd tell her to blow me. Not sorry. Before my child, my dogs were/are my babies. My husband would say happy mother's day to me. Same with some of my family. They got presents on Christmas etc. My friend who cannot have children says her cat is her baby. That cat is spoiled af. I think people need to mind their business. It's literally not hurting anyone directly with how others choose to celebrate this day. Whether you've miscarried, lost a baby after birth, haven't given birth yet, TTC, or towards a pet. It shouldn't matter. The only thing that should matter is how that person feels on mother's day, or if someone is gross and tells them "you can't celebrate cuz _______". Happy mother's day to all momma's! No matter the circumstance.

I only said agree because some people I know personally are REALLLLYYYY annoying about dogs.. like comparing me having a baby to their puppy and upset that no one told her happy Mother’s Day because she has dogs. It’s not the same.
