So today is my 31st birthday, and 3 days ago I got engaged to boyfriend of 3 1/2 years. When I called to tell my parents they didnt seem to care or anything, which I saw coming but boyfriend insist I call and tell them.

Fast forward to this morning, I took my parents, sister, niece, and nephew for a Mother's day breakfast. They never mentioned the engagement, ask to see my ring, asked how he proposed, nothing. They complained the whole time about the service and than food, yes the service was crappy but you could tell the girl was having a bad day and she was trying and it was bothering her she was messing up. They throw down $3 and act like they were doing me and this girl a huge favor, the bill was over $60. It takes a lot worst service for me not tip at least 10%! They never even said thank you for the meal!!!!

I don't know if I'm overreacting about this but is it so horrible that I want them to act like they care about this new chapter in my life? Also for them to be grateful they got a free meal, even if the service was crappy!
