Are your children baptised?

Or some other religious ceremony. Why/why not?

We “dedicated” our daughter, which essentially was a public proclamation that we are choosing to raise her in a Christian household. If/When she chooses to follow Jesus, she can get baptized when she’s old enough to make that decision :).

I won't baptize. My husband and I are Pagan and don't follow mainstream religion and do not plan to raise our children in any religion that requires them to be dipped in water to "cleanse and bless" them

I’ll let my daughter make that choice when she can comprehend and understand what it means to get baptized. I want her to learn about and love god enough to want to dedicate herself to him when she wants to. I don’t see the point in baptizing babies as they don’t understand what is happening and will most likely break the dedication until they decide that’s what they want to do.

My son was dedicated. It is basically an open commitment by his dad and me to raise him in the faith. He will be baptized when he is old enough to understand and ask for it himself.

My son is baptized catholic. Just like myself and his father... When he’s older, he chooses if he wants to have his first communion and then later his confirmation.. He’s 2.. so for now we take him to church when ever we go.. We may not go often but we are still catholic.

We will be doing a baby dedication at our Baptist church this summer as a public proclamation that we will be raising our son in a Christian home. But ultimately, we believe being baptized is his choice alone and is a public declaration of his faith in Christ as his Lord and Savior.

We are Lutheran and believe that baptism is not us choosing to follow God but rather, an acknowledgement that He has already died for our sins and saved us. So from that perspective, of course we would want to celebrate that gift for our daughter! :)
