Cloth diaper inserts? Helllp

Hello all - I am going to be cloth diapering my little guy, but I ordered our diapers with bamboo inserts and they seem so thin! I'm nervous they won't work well. They are very flimsy and don't seem very absorbent, even after multiple washes. I got them From Alva Baby. Anyone have experience with these? What do you think are the best inserts for these diapers, and where did you get them? I've heard flour sack towels work well also? Thank you! 💚

Bamboo is pretty absorbent. I know they look thin, but they also have to fit into the diapers comfortably for your baby. I’ve used microfiber, bamboo, and hemp inserts without issue. I will probably get some better quality heavy wetter inserts once he’s a few months old for bedtime. 
Flour sack towels are going to be thin and less absorbent. I used Gerber prefolds with my second, and he leaked even when they were doubled up. I don’t recommend either of those. 
You should look into Fluff University. I think I remember them having descriptions on the different types of inserts. That way you can find exactly what you’re looking for. There’s also a cloth diapering room here on Glow, and I’ve heard Facebook has a ton of really helpful cloth diapering pages.

Bamboo is my favorite insert. It is SO thin, and SO absorbant, it almost seems magically unfair to other inserts. The only reason I don't have all bamboo is because of $$.

Bamboo is pretty absorbent - I’m in the process of sewing up bamboo inserts for my newborn diapers because I hate microfibre. 
I use flour sack towels (FSTs) from Walmart as boosters - I just folded them into rectangles and serged the edges so they’re easier to fold - but they’re a nice affordable addition if the inserts you have aren’t quite enough.

I am using all Alva bamboo inserts for my little man! Very good at what they are supposed to do!
