Mother’s Day as a step mom..

This is the first year of being married to my husband. Along with him came his daughter, who is 8 currently. I have no children of my own and we are struggling to conceive. Many of his family members as well as my own step mother wished me a happy Mother’s Day this year, but he seemed annoyed by it and uncomfortable. While I didn’t ask for them to wish me a happy Mother’s Day I do a tremendous amount for his daughter, taking care of her and making sure she has everything she needs-physically and emotionally. Do you think it’s wrong to feel a little bit offended by his reaction to this? I don’t feel that I necessarily deserve to be told happy Mother’s Day as I am only her step mom, but I feel I deserve some sort of appreciation from him for everything I do because I genuinely care about her. It’s a terrible feeling not being appreciated, especially when her biological mother makes our lives so difficult. I guess this is a late post but it’s been bugging me for a couple days... words of wisdom anyone?
