Why is it that births are label as natural or not?

Hi just want to be explained because I totally don’t understand.. 
I have given birth to my son vaginally. I felt everycontraction every pain, I could not walk I tried to hold off but I could not... well I eventually got the epidural but it only work half so I felt every contraction still.. I was asked right after if it was natural..  and I said natural.. because I didn’t know if you had medication for pain it isn’t natural.. I tear badly soo sooo much pain, 12 stitches in and out, my clit got split in half and labia... I was made feel less because I said I had the epidural. Told me it wasn’t natural.. well I damn did not get a c section even though I would of forsure beg of it if I had the choice! It all comes out of the vagina.. how is it not natural, I understand c sections are not too natural but vaginally isn’t ? 
Why does it matter ? 
I totally have no clue.. 
pregnant again here and I don’t care what everyone things I am getting my epidural <3 hope it works better this time though.

It really should be called unmedicated instead of natural. Because the flip side, unnatural, sounds like something is wrong with it. 
Try not to let a label take away from your experience or what you went through to have your child. I have 4 kids, 2 were inductions with an epidural and 2 were unexpected c sections. My kids are all fine and I'm still a badass despite needing medical intervention to help me get these critters out.  And you're a badass, too. Congrats momma!

Hell I’m all for the epidural! It’s amazing modern medicine. You could get a leg amputated without anesthesia too, but nobody would choose to and no one would consider you a wimp or say “before modern medicine people did it naturally all the time”. Why is it any different with epidurals; why are we considered less if we choose not  to submit ourselves to excess pain when we don’t have to? It makes no sense to me... I consider it smart, and evolution at its finest.

No one should ever make you feel bad for the way you gave birth. Birth is birth regardless of whether or not it was a c-section, a vaginal delivery with all the drugs, or an unmedicated vaginal delivery without interventions. You’re a badass for bringing a human into the world regardless of how it happened. 
People just like to label things, and “natural” is a nice short descriptor that most people understand.

Natural is med free.  What you had was a vaginal delivery.  Nothing wrong with it, it’s just not “natural” once you start adding meds to the mix.  Even my first, I was induced so I don’t say I had her naturally even though she was born vaginally and without pain meds.  My second I saw was born naturally because I didn’t have any medications during my labor either to augment or reduce pain.

I get so upset when people say awww a csection? Um yes.... it doesn't matter.. were all mothers... I had 15 staples put across my lower abdomen  and had a higher chance of dying while giving birth.

I had to start using terms like that, because of the line of work I'm in, and because, believe it or not, my doctor has asked me what kind of birth I had, because they want to know if an epidural was given or not.

Just live your life as you see fit and be confident in the decisions you make for yourself and your family. Someone will always have something to say about those decisions, but if you are confident, you wont care or be made to feel less at all. You got this. Congrats on your new little one!

Nowadays ‘natural’ means without pain meds. You just delivered vaginally. :)
