What do y’all think ?

so recently me and this guy (my crush) were on a “break”, no we’re not in a relationship, we just flirt with each other like a lot. The reason being on why we were on a break was because I had really toxic friends and when they found out that he told me he didn’t want to be more then friends... they had angered him and it led to him not taking to me for a whole week. Then on Monday (5/13/19) he called me and told me how he actually really felt about me. he said that he really likes me and that I make him happy, but I don’t know I feel like something is off, maybe it’s the timing, or maybe he didn’t want to upset me. All I know is that my best friend thinks he’s playing me and my feelings, I just feel like I need someone else’s opinion on this ..
