Things to do at the hospital while in labor?

So I’ve talked to many people about labor and delivery and some people say to bring things to the hospital while in labor to help take your mind off things. So I’m curious as to what everyone brought or what are some things you brought from home to pass time.

Unless you get drugs- it’s EXTREMELY hard to take your mind off of labor due to the pain level. I was screaming on my hands and knees like a crack head, asking someone to just take me out with as sniper. Definitely not reading or using technology. 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree, it depends on how your labor goes but so far in my experience of birthing two kids, I definitely wasn’t thinking about doing anything other than breathing lol. 
My first labor was 16h and second labor, we were only in the hospital for 30m before he was born. 
Once baby is born, you will be too distracted by baby to care about anything else. I personally dont think you should take any “entertainment” other than your phone/tablet

I was going to bring my tablet for Netflix. That and my phone should be enough if I have time to kill.

I had an epidural so I didn’t have to worry about the pain,breathing, etc. but I had my phone and the tv in my room was playing Thor!

I labored at home for as long as possible. I went to the hospital when my contractions were 3 min apart - got there at noon - had my daughter at 3pm. I brought a cpl movies for the cpl days I had to stay.

I had a c section, but I waited in pre op for several hours.. all I took was my phone. It was fine. Even after I had the baby, I didn’t do much other than hold her.. I wasn’t ever “bored” or at a point I needed to get my mind off of things... but then again, I didn’t labor

Following. Waiting at the hospital is the worst and I laboured mostly at home.

If you’re induced then definitely bring entertainment. While I waited to be induced I watched a few Netflix movies/shows on my tablet. 
During labor you’ll just be wondering how time has slowed down so much you’ve been in labor for 8 years yet only 2 hours have passed. 
After delivery I watched my tablet occasionally because I don’t really watch much tv. I didn’t really do it much because I kinda just stare at my babies, nurse them, or sleep 😂 my husband definitely used his iPad because he wasn’t the one nursing, laboring or exhausted.

My phone, but I was still to distracted by everything else to even use it that much. Depending on how your labor goes, I wouldn't bring too much because you most likey won't use anything.
