6 weeks old

My son is 6 weeks old tomorrow and has slept a total of 2.5 hours all day today. He won’t sleep regardless of anything I’ve tried. As soon as I managed to get him to sleep, I’ll let him lay on me for at least a half hour before putting him down. As soon as he’s down, he’s awake within 5 minutes. At times he’ll be calm and hang out while he’s awake, other times he’s beyond fussy and starts screaming.

My question is, is there a growth spurt around 6 weeks? Colic maybe? I’m not exactly sure what it is but I feel so bad because I know he’s tired. But I’m not entirely sure what to do at this point.
