Pcos ?

Question

I’m scared I have pcos.  I have hair on my chin that I pluck and wax a lot.  I have regular ish enough periods with my iud.  And no acne and I’m not over weight. I’ve had a ultrasound and was told I have some cysts on my ovaries but no diagnosis was given.  What do you think?

Cysts aren’t exclusive to pcos- you won’t get a pcos diagnosis unless your hormone levels (testosterone and insulin) are high, in addition to the cysts. It’s really an umbrella term for “your body makes too much testosterone and we don’t know why? but also theres cysts on your ovaries”. 
The other symptoms (hair growth, insulin resistance and resulting weight gain, terrible/irregular periods) are all because of the testosterone levels. If it’s infertility you’re worried about, that’s only really affected if the cysts get so bad they have to surgically remove one or both ovaries. The smaller or less severe cysts usually take care of themselves. I had a rather large one that popped on its own. Surgical treatments are usually not necessary and are only in extreme cases.
And a diagnosis isn’t the end of the world! All they’ll do is put you on the pill/hormonal birth control to even out your hormone levels and to calm your periods (which are probably bad/irregular if you have pcos) and tell you to lose weight, or to watch your weight if you aren’t overweight already. I was on metformin for the insulin resistance, but it didn’t do anything for me, but my doc said it helps some pcos folks lose weight more easily.
Very little to be afraid of, and you aren’t alone with the chin hairs! Some of us just have more hair than others. We are mammals, after all.

It’s very common to have ovarian cysts without having PCOS. It’s also very common for General Practitioners give a false diagnosis of PCOS because of the cysts. 
Can I ask how old you are? The facial hair could be because you’re of a certain age kind of thing.

I have hair on my face and neck. I don’t have pcos just lower than normal progesterone. I have a healthy 4 week old. I just have to take progesterone with my pregnancy until I’m 16 weeks along.

Get your testosterone levels checked! Relax! It is not the end of the world! Just be prepared for a few bumps in the road if you have it! And the hair thing is the worst for me! Hate that!
