Dilation

I am a FTM , at my 37 week appointment the doctor did an internal exam. To both our surprise I was 2cm dilated. The doctor didn't mention if I was effaced but he said the baby was in position. He said it's early and he would like me to abstain from sexual Intercourse and to take it easy the next two weeks. I was a bit taken off guard , after reading a few posts online I noticed 2cm isn't a big deal and I could still go into labor late. Anyone have any experience with this! ? I don't know if I should have hospital bags ready and start to tie up lose ends around the house or if I should take it easy and worry about it at a later point!?
