I give up 😒
I work 35-42 hours a week. My husband stays home with our 16 month old for now (he has a job interview later this week). I did the stay-at-home mom thing for 8 months. I was very lucky to be able to do so, but we hit hard times & it simply wasn’t an option anymore. So I got a job that I absolutely love. I work 11am-9pm - but sometimes we stay open later & I could easily not ending up clocking out until 12am-1am some nights.
When I do get some days off I clean. I do all the dishes, I sweep, mop, organize, everything I need to do to keep the house decent. That apparently is the only time the house gets cleaned.
Every single night when I come home from work the entire house is trashed. By the time I come home I’m just so exhausted that i just crawl into bed & sleep so I can be up for work again the next day.
Today is the first time I’ve had a day off all week. I’ve got an entire sink full of dishes that my husband & daughter have used, we apparently don’t have a trash can because there’s literal garbage on the floor in every. single. room in this house. I asked him today, “how does this happen?”
“Oh, the baby did it.”
The baby left an entire sink full of dishes?
The baby TRASHED the entire house?
I go, “you couldn’t have picked up?”
He says, “she won’t let me she just cries the whole time so I don’t do it”
Hmm. She doesn’t cry the whole time *I* clean the entire house. 🤔
I spend all day cleaning just for it to get trashed the next time I go to work so - what’s the point?
So, I am hereby officially give up.
