Are Medela pumps hard to clean?

The only issues I really see about them is that they get mold. Are they annoying to clean or is it just something that happens? Trying to decide which one to get. Thanks!

I used mine for 8 months and it was from a friend who used it for who knows how long. No mold or issues.

Been using my Medela 6 months and never had mould and not something I think will happen. I look after it though.

I’ve had mine for more than two years and I have had no issues. If you want to take an extra precaution, after you’re done pumping, disconnect the tubes from the rest of the pump parts but leave it connected to the pump and leave the machine running. This way the air blowing through the tubing will give them a little clean and if there’s anything wanting to remain inside the tubing the air will push it out.

I've heard great things about the pump in style, but has an open system so milk can get into the tubing. The freestyle has a closed system.
