How do I go about a water birth?

I'm 22+1 today but I have already decided I'd like to have a water birth (I say like as I know it depends on whether the birthing pools are in use when I go into labor).
I've been having a lot of pain in my back and to ease it I've been sitting with warm water flowing down my back and it has really helped. 
Do I just mention it to my midwife or tell the nurses/doctors when I arrive? Please help, I have no idea as I'm a first time teen mom!

Later on in your pregnancy, you will see your midwife and at that appointment you will go through your birthing plan, just let your midwife know and she will write it in your notes. Then when you’re in labour and at the hospital they will be able to see what’s in your birthing plan and they will discuss with you there and then and let you know if the pool is free

I had a water birth with my daughter, I told the midwife at my appointment when she discussed my birthing plan and was really pleased with this, most midwives lien things like water births and no pain medication as it makes it quite easy for them. It was written into my notes that’s what I wanted and when I was in labour I told them that’s what I wanted before I came in and when I was checked and admitted they filled up the birthing pool. 
Just be aware some hospitals won’t let you get In before a certain point as it can slow labour down. I got told before 7 cm they prefer you to stay out as it can slow things down but they only just managed to get it filled up in time for me before my daughter was born!!

When you do your birth plan you can say you want one!
All i will say is dont have your heart completely set on it! I really wanted one but on the day I went into labour i had reduced movements so they wanted to monitor him closely so i had to go to the birthing unit and wasn’t allowed a water birth!
You will probably be fine but just be prepared for things not to go exactly how you have it on your birth plan xx
