Pelvic exam cause for blood?

Yesterday I had my 6 week PP check up. When I got home everything seemed normal. I went to have a bowel movement and it took 15 mins. I wasn't constipated, that's just how much I had to go. I felt sick to my stomach toward the end and when I turned around to flush I noticed the water was red. I don't think there was any blood in my stool but can't be sure. There wasn't any blood in my urine or underwear either. I stopped post partem bleeding after 3 weeks and am exclusively breast feeding so it's not a period. Could the blood have come from pushing after having a vaginal exam? Anyone else experience this?
