My car sucks..

So my SO just bought me a new car for when baby gets here because my car was just to small .. well today I go to install the car seat base & my new car doesn’t have a latch system..

I don’t understand why it doesn’t because it’s a 2016..

I’m super grateful for the car, he brought it home & was so excited to surprise me but now I’m like disappointed over a latch system.. lol

I obviously want my baby to be safe & people have used seat belts to install a car seat for years before the latch system, but is it honestly safe? .. I know it’s probably a stupid question but I’m shocked that there is no latch system & idk what to do except use the seat belt or sell the car.. I plan on going to the fire station & asking but I figured I’d ask here first.
