Sent on early Maternity Leave
Today I had not slept at all and was so tired but I knew I needed the money so I rolled out of bed and went to work. I live 30 miles outside of town where my job is. Money's been tight and I had to put my last change into my tank to be sure I'll make it for the week. I got in a little later than usual (I'm usually really early) but I was on time. My boss asked me how I felt and I said I was tired. I was up all night with numb arms and I have 4 four week old puppies plus my dogs that kept me up since before the sun came up.
She said I don't have to be there and I should call if I'm feeling that way because although I worry they've got it handled in an emergency. I was supposed to go on leave next week. But she offered an earlier leave for me because she knows how I'm struggling. I've been crying all day nearly, I'm exhausted and I have so much to do before baby girl comes I did a half day and left. I have my work baby shower Friday/memorial day bbq so I'll be back for that but I just feel weird. I always work and I feel defeated.
What really bothered me was my coworker - she said "I think it's just crazy how early you and Kels (our coworker about to finish her leave) left for maternity leave, when I was pregnant with JJ (her now 20 year old son) I worked up to the day I delivered. " 😑🙄

Like WHY was that necessary!? She knew how I was feeling and my situation and was so empathetic before!
Also she just had a daughter and had a year of being a kept woman before finding a job. Like gtfoh.
I live on raw land on a mountain with a compost toilet and a small cabin. She lives down the street in a town home. 😑
Our situations are not the same my friend.
