At what point do babies not fit in NB clothing?

How many pounds were your babies and did they fit newborn clothing and what point did they not fit or grow out of it? I’m wondering if my daughters coming home outfit will need to be NB or bigger?!

We didn’t get a chance to wear NB clothing. Daughter was 9lbs,12oz at birth. Went straight to 0-3

Honestly my first daughter was only in NB clothes for two weeks, and she was born early! I am taking two newborn outfits and two 0-3 outfits to the hospital this time

I feel like brands make a big difference, but my daughter was born at 7 lbs 12 oz, and lost a little weight. I think she wore newborn clothing for like 6 weeks, or until she was just under 9 lbs. However, it was also the summer (and an intense one), so she wore a lot of onesies because our house stayed at about 78 most days.

My daughter was born at 38 weeks and 6 pounds. She fit in preemie clothes for 3 weeks then was in newborn for a while. She fit in my sister's American Girl Doll clothes when she came out 😲 So I'd say it all depends.

My first was 9+lbs and never wore newborn clothes or diapers. I have one pack of newborn diapers and been given newborn clothes but I haven't spent any money in that size.

Both my babies fir for a few weeks. They were 8.14oz 20in and 8.12oz 22.5in. Unsure what they were when I moved up in size though. But unused more 0-3m than newborns.

My son was little, he was 6 lbs 10 oz. He barely fit the newborn clothes, but he fit them as he started growing for at least a month. He is almost 2 and still in 18 month clothes that are too big.

Mine was born at 37 weeks so she was in preemie clothes for the first month and then nb until she was close to 3 months. Just to put things in perspective she was 5lbs 9oz and 18.75 inches at birth
