I’m 31 (soon to be 32 in July). I have a hx of irregular periods, was on BC since 8th grade since I wouldn’t get my period for close to a year, and I tend to take after my mother health-wise whom had difficulty conceiving (my older siblings are both adopted). About 1 1/2 years ago my husband and I stopped all preventative measures figuring it may take us awhile, and we were discussing “trying in earnest” within the next year. Nothing has happened these past 1 1/2 years..... until now!

Was having low back pain and breast tenderness last week and took a test which was a BFN. I’ve had pretty regular 5 week cycles recently, so chalked it all up to pre-AF symptoms. Had some very light brown spotting Wednesday which often happens the day before full blown AF. And thought I might be syncing up with my coworkers 😂. Well yesterday came, no AF. And I was SO TIRED! Like I pulled an all-nighter type of tired, even after having tea and coffee. My coworkers and boss noticed I looked fatigued and after I mentioned it a few times we joked “must be pregnant”. Got home from work, and figured “eh, why not just take a test to see?” And saw something I’ve never seen before! This:

A shadow of a line. I started to freak, and wanted to be sure before telling my hubby. So I ran out and got a clear blue digital. But that came back BFN. I thought “what the heck?”. Was talking to a close friend who said that digitals are less sensitive than the line type, and suggested I get a FRER. Went out and bought that yesterday evening. I was too impatient to wait until this AM, so took it last night.... sure enough...

Could barely sleep last night I was so excited, terrified, and anxious! The FR came with a digital, so I took that this AM... POSITIVE!

Today is our 5 year Anniversary! What crazy timing! To go along with his gift, I stopped at target on the way home and bought a little Star Wars onesie. And juuuuust to be super sure, I couldn’t help but take one of the clear blue digitals again...

Eureka!!

Wrapped up the tests with the onesie and will be giving it to my husband this evening before we go out to dinner. I’m cautiously excited, bc I know a lot can happen in these precarious early weeks. Praying to get through the first trimester and go on to have a healthy baby at the end of this journey!! ❤️
