Is 80 degrees too hot for a 7 month old?

My air conditioning is out and my 7 months old room is like 83 degrees. I’m worried about sids! everyone says that baby being too warm can cause sids. I put a fan in there facing him and he’s only sleeping in his diaper but I’m still so worried, do you think he should be okay?

That is really hot for baby, I would just keep a close eye and make sure he doesn’t get dehydrated, 83 would be uncomfortable for an adult who can control their body temperatures so for the baby he might sweat a good amount, like I said I would just keep a close eye

Humanity survived before air conditioning. It sounds like you have him dressed appropriately and air circulating, so that’s good.  Make sure he is sleeping on his back in a safe sleep area.  Having you sleep in the same room also reduces SIDs risk.

Ideal sleeping temp for babies is 67-70 degrees. 80 degrees is much too hot. Keep a fan going for circulation and keep an eye on them. No pajamas or hats/socks, naked except for a diaper.

My one yr old is asleep in her room right now and the video monitor says 83. We have her window cracked and a fan going. Our only air conditioner is downstairs and currently not working. And the windows in this house crank open and there’s no way to put one in the window. It’ll be ok - just keep an eye them. I grew up in the country in a metal roof trailer home with box fans and I survived 😋🤷🏻‍♀️
