What do you do when

your newborn won’t stop crying and you have tried everything but nothing seems to console them? My baby does this sometimes and it can go on for some time and I don’t know what to do with him during that time.

My hospital gave me a booklet when we went home with baby. There was a section about why baby may be crying, and one of the reasons was because sometimes they just cry and there isn't much you can do. I would make an appointment with the pediatrician just to rule out silent reflux or anything though.

My son used to.do.this and he was just super gassy, after some bicycle legs and knees to chest to get the gas out he'd be alright. It's mostly just a guessing game, nursing always calmed him down, even if he wasnt hungry.

If you can, pass him off to someone else or get someone to stop by to hold him for a little bit. When nothing else works and I get stressed, I find that it's almost like he senses that and the only thing that calms him down is someone else holding him and me calming down.

Colic carry, trading hands so daddy takes over or vice versa, bath time, singing, letting baby see what’s around. There’s no one way that’s what i did with my little one and still have to do when she’s done. There’s no magic motion. And sometimes laying on my back flat with her laying on me helps. But again no magic motion. Sometimes they just cry.
